A slower life, still on the grid
West of Meridian, past where the subdivisions thin out and the hayfields run to the road, sit a pair of towns that new-home buyers keep rediscovering: Middleton and New Plymouth. They represent the Treasure Valley's country side: genuine farming communities where you can hear yourself think, still back to Boise for work in 30 to 45 minutes.
Middleton: the crossroads that grew up
Middleton started as a midpoint between Fort Boise and Henry's Ferry on the Oregon Trail, and it is still a place defined by the roads. Today Highway 44 carries you east toward Eagle and Boise while I-84 sits a few minutes west. The town has layered new schools and its parks, including a popular skate park, over the agricultural core, and its school district posts a strong graduation rate for a town its size.
New Plymouth: the boulevard park town
New Plymouth is known for something no other town in the country has: it is laid out entire town with an 80-foot-wide boulevard park, so much of the community feels like one great public lawn. It runs on the county fair, river-country weekends, and a pace where neighbors matter. Its schools serve the town, and Treasure Valley Community College is a short drive west in Ontario, Oregon.

Follow these towns west and you will find fresh CBH addresses blending into old farm country: more ground between houses, quieter roads, and a family neighborhood where the hay season still happens across the fence. The trade is commutes to Boise for daily work, fewer walkable restaurants, and school bus routes that start earlier.
